Presence sensor help

Sensor offline or not working?

  1. Press the Test button on the side of the presence sensor. This may help restart communication with the O2 Home hub. Check the motion sensor’s status to see if it is back online.
  2. Make sure the sensor is online by going to "Devices", located on the menu bar of the O2 Home app/website, and clicking the down arrow of the sensor's icon to see its status. Note: You will have to close this window to access the app/website.
  3. If it is still offline: Have you recently added or moved any wireless devices such as a baby monitor, wireless speakers, or another O2 Home device?
    • Yes: Power off the new devices or move the devices back to their original location, and then check the motion sensor’s status to see if it is back online.
    • No: Go to step 5.
  4. Did the sensor’s status return online?
    • Yes: If the interference was caused by moving an existing device and you cannot leave the device in the original location, please call us for further help. If the interference was caused by a new device, change its location, position, or frequency (if possible). Power the device back on and check if it causes the motion sensor to go offline again. If it does, please contact us on 0344 499 0202 for assistance.
    • No: Go to next step.
  5. Remove the batteries, wait 10 seconds, and then reinsert the batteries into the motion sensor. This may help reset the sensor and restart communication with the O2 Home hub. See below for how to reinsert the batteries. Check to see if the presence sensor is back online.
  6. If the presence sensor is still offline, replace the batteries. See below for how to replace the batteries.

Replacing the battery

If your battery has run out on your presence sensor, follow these steps to replace it. You’ll need a CR123A battery.

  1. Press the button on the bottom of the device and pull forward to remove the motion sensor from the back plate.
  2. Remove the old battery.
  3. Insert one 3V CR123A lithium battery, making sure it is correctly aligned with the plus (+) and minus (-) signs.
  4. Gently snap the sensor back onto the back plate.
